Hi, I'm Linda LaPorte, an independent jewelry appraiser serving Austin, Texas and surrounding communities. As an Accredited Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and a Graduate Gemologist (GG) from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), I provide professional, independent jewelry appraisal services backed by more than 22 years of experience in the jewelry industry.
My passion for gemstones began at an early age—I even completed my first gemstone identification report as a fifth-grade science fair project. That lifelong interest evolved into a career dedicated to helping clients understand the quality, authenticity, and value of their fine jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, watches, and heirloom pieces.
Throughout my career, I have worked in jewelry workshops, retail jewelry sales, international trade shows, and auction environments, giving me extensive knowledge of jewelry manufacturing, gemstone identification, diamond grading, market trends, and valuation methodologies. I also hold certification in Jewelry Fabrication and Repair with a specialization in wax carving, providing valuable insight into jewelry construction and craftsmanship.
Because I work as an independent jewelry appraiser, my evaluations are completely unbiased. I do not buy or sell jewelry, allowing every appraisal to be based solely on professional analysis, current market research, and accepted appraisal standards.
Appointments are conducted in a private Austin office by reservation, with on-site appraisal services available for select situations.
